Fill in the blanks first with what you already know. Then go to the Ontario Ministry of Education website to find the legally binding document: “Ontario Secondary Schools, Grades 9 to 12: Program and Diploma Requirements.” LINK Use the Search Window to search for the section numbers that are given in brackets. (For example, type 3.1.3 in the Find window.)

OSSD & Requirements (Sec. 3.1)
OSSD is short for: Ontario Secondary School Diploma
30 credits (18 compulsory, 12 elective)
must pass the provincial secondary school literacy test
40 hours of community hours

Community Involvement Activities (Sec. 3.1.3)
when it may be completed: any time during the school
encourages students to develop _Awarness__ and of the role they can play in supporting and strengthening their communities. may take place in a variety of settings, including: __place of worship_, ___organizations, ___institutions (including hospitals), and informal settings. Students may not fulfill the requirement through activities that are counted towards a _credit__.

Provincial Secondary School Literacy Test (Sec. 3.1.4)
