Diversity in our Nation
Diversity is the state or fact of being different which is very crucial to a perfect economy. Diversity in our homeland is very essential because it reduces bullying; it helps you learn about different cultures. Diversity benefits society by opening the doors for discussion and consideration of different points of view, different ways of thinking, and different ways of living. On the contrary, diversity means that people need to learn more about others unlike themselves, and be more cognizant of how they present something might offend someone or may be misunderstood. People who make fun of others because of their religion or ethnicity are ignorant of their backgrounds. That is why schools should promote multicultural curriculum to decrease bullying and students would become knowledgeable of what and who are in their everyday lives. Diversity in the United States has helped me better understand or relate to others in ways that I may not have had in the past by realizing that I am very fortunate when some children do not have parents, all the name brand clothing or even homes to live in. Individuals and the United States work together to reduce prejudice and increase appreciation for diversity by teaching people in the community to not have prejudice, and to enforce laws that protect people from racism, and its effects. Diversity helps us learn about different cultures and religions. You meet new people and you get to know them better you learn things about them. You would be exposed to different types of scrumptious foods or different fashions or rituals. Unfortunately, I have not recently learned anything new about my own racial, ethnic or cultural history but I would like to learn more about it. We can foster a climate of acceptance and cultural pluralism in the United States by being tolerant, civil, and respectful to one another and treating others as we want to be treated.
