ABTRACT
Gender disparity is reported to be increasing world wide as reported by researcher hereby it was found out that girl child has neglected in education. However this research aimed at carrying out a surely on the factors contributing to gender disparity in pre-school and lower primary school in Sook Zone, Sook Division, West Pokot County. The researcher investigated the causes of gender disparity to performance in ECDE centers find out that its caused by poor school attendance and find out the effects of gender disparity on school attendance and performance and also find out the possible solution of addressing the problem. As the researcher researches he/she may face financial problems due to shortage of funds Gender disparity has been a major problem in provision of education in pre-primary schools, this id due to the fact that gender disparity has be associated in may aspects of life such as cultural , social , families and school gender bases in resources and life studies or living of people in the community whereby it favour boys. Girl child level of education is low compared to boy child because of the early marriages to girls get marriage when at age of 15 years. This seems to be affecting young girls who are denied education. The government and non-government organization such as USAID and World-Vision should liaise with the teachers and parents to sensitized them on to be aware of this problem of gender disparity to performance in ECDE centres, so they came up with possible solutions for reducing gender disparity in the community. The government should also improve the standard of living by producing them with support through financial , conducting seminars by educating them on the advantages of educating a girl child so that they cannot discriminate their children when they are educating them because of poverty. MOE the ministry of education on should review the curriculum such as teaching materials, to corporate all the pupils regardless of their gender biases so that female teachers are incorporated, methodology and researching...
