Answer the following questions by discussing either your own chosen activity from school or your chosen audio-visual sequence: What does playful activity bring to the curriculum and to school life more widely? In what ways does it enhance learning?

For your chosen example you should:
explain what happened in the activity in school (or what is shown to happen in the audio-visual sequence) and how it demonstrates play in action discuss the contribution of the learning environment in enhancing and enabling play consider whether there are or were any ways in which playfulness is or was controlled or reduced explain how you consider the session is or was enhanced by the play element discuss how the activity might be changed to allow for more playfulness. There is much evidence to show that play supports effective learning. Conclude this section of your TMA with a paragraph of approximately 200 words discussing what practitioners can do to ensure play is embedded in curriculum activities. You should refer to the concepts and theories you have studied in the module materials to support the points you make throughout this section. 3 The importance of creativity in school (about 1000 words) We would like you to answer the following questions by discussing either your own chosen activity from school or your chosen audio-visual sequence: What does creativity bring to the curriculum and to school life more widely? In what ways does it enhance learning?

In your chosen example you should:
explain what happened in the activity in school (or what is shown to happen in the audio-visual sequence) and how it exemplifies creativity discuss the contribution of the learning environment in enhancing and enabling creativity consider whether there are or were any ways in which creativity is or was controlled or reduced explain how you consider the session is or was enhanced by the creativity discuss how the activity might be changed to allow for more creativity. The concept of ‘lifewide creativity’ discussed in Study topic 14 encourages the embedding of creativity in all aspects of teaching and learning. Conclude this section of your TMA with a paragraph of approximately 200 words discussing what practitioners can do to foster and encourage creativity on a daily basis across all areas of the curriculum. You should refer to the concepts and theories you have studied in the module materials to support the points you make throughout this section. 4 Conclusion (about 200 words)

Write a succinct summary of what you have learnt from your consideration of the school-based session and your chosen audio-visual sequence, and how this has informed your current understanding and future thinking about practice.
