education system in Great
Britain and in our country
From an early age, we’ve been told that
education is the key to one’s success in life.
Study hard! Get good grades! Go to university!
And by making education freely available to all
children, we’re giving everyone an equal
opportunity to succeed in life. But the path to
success and even middle-class existence is no
longer so straightforward, if indeed it ever was.
What is education?
Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next
through storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and or research. Education may also include informal transmission of such information from one human being to another.
The education system in the UK is divided into four
main parts, primary education, secondary education,
further education and higher education. Children in
the UK have to legally attend primary and secondary
education which runs from about 5 years old until
the student is 16 years old.
The educational system in Kazakhstan is presented by two languages: Kazakh and Russian. Primary education is the most developed of the state’s educational system. Pupils receive their primary education in schools of three different levels. Primary 1 - 4 grades, middle 5 - 9 grades and junior 10 - 11 grades. After finishing the 9th grade children continue education in high schools in technical - professional institutes, or in special schools. Every lesson lasted 45 minutes. Every day we had 5 or 6 lessons.
Education in the UK
Education in the Kazakhstan
Primary education begins in the UK at
age 5 and continues until age 11,
comprising key stages one and two under
the UK educational system. Usually all
the primary schools include both boys
and girls as their pupils and secondary
schools are mostly single sex or can be a
co-educational. The education
departments in the Wales, England and
Scotland are basically the education of
funded schools which is funded by the
local education authority. In the states of
Northern Ireland the schools are mostly
financed from public funds with the help
of best education and library board.
Primary education lasts for four years
preceded by one year of pre-school
education. Secondary education consists
in three main educational phases:
primary education (forms 1-4), basic
general education (forms 5-9) and senior
level education (forms 10-11 or 12)
divided into continued general education
and professional education. These three
levels of education can be followed in one
institution or in different ones (e.g.
primary school, then secondary school).

higher education system in
the UK and how it works for
international students. Most
international students will

after completing their home
country’s equivalent to the
UK’s “further education.”
