Introduction

I am going to do a project about how we learn. This will include a definition of learning, different ways we learn, different ways of learning all over the world and factors that can affect our learning.

Definition of Learning

“Learning is a gain of knowledge or skills through study, experience or being taught”.

Ways of Learning

Many people recognize that each person prefers different learning styles and techniques. Learning styles group common ways that people learn. Everyone has a mix of learning styles. Some people may find that they have a dominant style of learning. Others may find that they use different styles in different circumstances. The best way for a person to learn depends on the person. Teachers should make students aware of the various learning styles and encourage them to consider their preferred style as they complete their studies and this is what we did through this project. The Seven Learning Styles

Visual
This type of learner likes to read books, use flash cards, watch other people, use a mind map and to use highlighter pens. Aural
This type of learner likes to use rhymes, music, poem, listen to others, listen to radio and use audio books. Physical
This type of learner likes to make models/objects, draw diagrams, practice and make notes and role play. Verbal
This type of learner likes to ask questions, record notes to play back, role play, read books aloud. Logical
This type of learner likes to make lists, do puzzles and use word association.

Social
This type of learner likes to study groups, brain storm and work in a group and role play.

Solitary

This type of learner likes to self-study, keep a journal or diary and work quietly. My Learning Style
My favourite learning styles are visual and physical because I find it easier to remember information if is shown to me first. I like to try things out myself and practice. If I would have to choose between watching a film and reading the book, I will rather watch the film because that makes it easier for me to remember.
