This is a brief summary on the book of Ephesians and how I applied it to my life. One of the things from Ephesians I chose to apply to my life is found in chapter one verses 16-17. It talks about giving thanks to God in your prayers and that God will bless us with wisdom and revelation in Jesus. I have made sure to start my prayers with thanks giving and worship! I have started building my life with a foundation based on the apostles and prophets with Jesus being the chief corner stone. I have done some digging in the bible and studded some of the prophets of old. I found that their prayer life was a vital part of their miniseries. I have started my day off with prayer and ended it with prayer. I have set a reminder on my phone to remind me to pray in the morning and night. I believe that prayer is a major part of the foundation in any Christian’s life! Fasting is another part of the foundation that I am working on. Fasting is a good way to kill the flesh and feed the spiritual man! I have started fasting once a week at random. During my fasting meals I read my bible and pray so that I can get my spiritual feeding as well. During this time I feel like God points out a lot of things to me in the Word! I feel like a strong foundation is built off of prayer and fasting. When you have prayer and fasting down in your life, you find that you have confidence to go through anything life throws at you! Marlin Hickey says ‘prayer and fasting are essential for growth with God” in his article The Power of Prayer and Fasting. Just like Hickey I believe it is neccisary and it has helped me grow in my relationship in the short time that I have been doing this on a regular basis. I plan to continue to do this for the rest of my life so that I can continue to grow in God!
