Reflection Paper (Chapter 5)
1. Consider the rich spiritual suggestion in Genesis 1:3, where light was the first thing created by God. Reflect to the importance given to light in this account. How important is light in your life today? Personally, I think the main reason why light was the first thing ever created because it what brings beauty to all other creations because without Light, there is only darkness. Light, for me, also symbolizes the Word of God that is what made everything, including the creation possible. The Light or the Word of God in my life today is significant for it’s what guides me to which path I must take or what actions and decisions must I do. Without this Light, I’m not sure what would become of me. 2. Read Psalm 8. Compare it with Genesis 1 and 2. How can humans acknowledge and appreciate God? Humans can appreciate and acknowledge God by praising and worshiping Him for all the good things He has done. We could also so this by taking care of His creation, for we are the appointed steward of it.

3. What is the place of rest and worship in your life? Has the youth of today lost these values? The place of rest and worship in my life is whenever and wherever I’m praying or communicating to God. Unfortunately, some people already lost this value because of their lack of knowledge about their faith. But looking closely, it is not really too late yet to inject these values to others.

4. What are the “serpents” enticing you to become unfaithful to God and others today? The serpents that are enticing me and others to become unfaithful with God are material things, the future and the pressure of society. Material or earthly things are essential to us while we are still living but sometimes we tend to forget that there are far more important things to look forward to and it is the heavenly gifts. I also consider my future or my studies as a serpent that entices me because it hinders me to fully give my attention to our Church and serving. And lastly, it is the pressure of society. As we all notice, the society that we belong to is not a group exclusively for Christians and there are people who do things which they think are trendy and cool when it is not. We tend to imitate these habits because we want to be “in” and we want to feel belonged but all these things just make us forget what or who should we really prioritize. 5. How is it possible to achieve harmony and peace in our world? What must we do in order to attain these values in our family, our country, and in the international community? Yes, it is possible to achieve harmony and peace in the world. By obeying the Word of the Lord and living like the way Jesus had lived, harmony and peace isn’t really impossible.

Reflection Paper (Chapter 8)
1. Do you think that God also plays favorites? Would you take this favoritism as something positive or negative? Why? No, I don’t think that God play favorites for He loves each one of His creation equally. He is just appointing certain people to do the job of saving His people. God knows each ones faith and capacity individually well and that is what He uses as basis to whoever can do a particular mission to His people. Choosing just certain people is something positive because it’s not meant to benefit only the anointed person but the humanity. 2. What is your attitude towards corrupt public officials? Were they innately corrupt or was it power that corrupted them? Personally, I think these corrupt officials are not really born like one or have motives and plans to corrupt once they got elected. It’s just that the feeling to cheat on the nation and do things only for their individual benefit only comes when they’re already in the position and they know that they are already safe to do it for the power they already posses. It is the power that corrupted them. 3. Who are those persons you consider as God’s spokesperson today? Why do you regard them as such?
