Of the ten arguments that the Bible is the Word of God, I believe that the most compelling argument is The Convicting, Convincing, Converting Power of the Message. It is hard to imagine that people who have ever read the Bible were untouched by it in some form or fashion. “Even though the Bible tells us of sinful acts, it is not a popular book where sinful acts take place”. Not all people who have read the Bible cease to sin; however, if people read the Bible and heeded its warning, they may not be as inclined towards sinning. Perhaps if people could see clearly, they would see that Jesus will set them free from their sin and give them new hopes and dreams. Scripture reads, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free” (Romans 8:1-2, NIV). The Bible is the only book that can convict a person of their sin and show them how much God loves them and puts their sin under the blood of Christ. I agree with the statement, “The Bible has a transforming power to change lives of individuals”. I believe that this is a fact. The Bible is the only book I am aware of that is a road map to help guide people through this journey called life; scripture says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105, NIV). People that study the Bible are having their lives transformed on a daily basis. The Bible is the living, breathing word of God and it helps convict people of the sin in their lives so they are able to confess it, turn from it and begin renewed the next day. As a Police Officer, I encounter many different people. Some of those individuals are alcoholics or drug addicts. On one occasion, dispatch sent me to a call involving an individual that I ended up arresting. This individual was addicted to cocaine.
