25 Prophets Mentioned in the Qur’an

The Qur’an tells the story of twenty five Prophets who were sent to guide people to the truth and remind them of their true purpose in life: worshipping God alone. The Qur’an informs us that every individual nation was previously sent a Prophet who called them to stay on the righteous path of God, warned them that that there would be consequences if they did not, and ordered them to uphold justice in society. These sent Prophets were the best of people who ever lived – in fact the belief of a Muslim is not accepted unless he/she believes that they were indeed Prophets of God and were the most honest and righteous of people. Finally, the Qur’an tells us the stories of the Prophets so that we may consider and learn from their experiences; the last and final of whom was Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him. The following is a brief history on all twenty five mentioned Prophets in the Qur’an.
